On March 30, 2026, the Hudson River Waterfront Conservancy (Conservancy) received a copy of WLRP File # LUP260001 – 0213-04-0001.1 for construction of a ferry landing including a section of the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway in Edgewater.
General – The Hudson River Waterfront Walkway (Walkway) has been constructed over the past 30+ years and has evolved into a vital and growing public transportation link and recreational facility for the public along the Hudson River. During that time, many lessons have been learned about construction, maintenance and operation of the Walkway. The HRWC seeks to apply the lessons learned and best practices in the on-going oversight of construction, maintenance and operation of the Walkway. This includes requesting appropriate exceptions to the Regulations administering the Walkway construction and maintenance where justified.
Recommendations:
The proposed ferry landing terminal meets all the requirements for a water-dependent use as well as meeting Public Access requirements and construction of a section of the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway. As a result, the Hudson River Waterfront Conservancy strongly endorses this project and has no objections to its completion. Approval of this permit will allow access to this additional ferry service via the Walkway which will be welcome as an enhancement to the Walkway experience.
