The Hudson River Waterfront Conservancy is hosting another Walk-the-Walkway Walk and you’re invited to join us on Earth Day, April 22, 2026 from 5-7pm for a beautiful sunset stroll. We will walk a mile or more along Hoboken’s waterfront.  Meet outside the Hoboken Historical Museum at 4:45pm at 1301 Hudson Street, Hoboken. We’ll tour the original NY Yacht Club (Hoboken Cove Boathouse), Elysian Park where scenes of the 8-Oscars-winning “On the Waterfront” were filmed, and continue along the waterfront where we’ll find Sybil’s Cave, Hoboken’s oldest man-made structure from 1832, visit Stevens Tech campus with sweeping views of the NYC skyline, Pier C / Sinatra Park with an active fishing pier and bird rookery, Pier A Park with a promenade and gazebo, and ending at the historic Lackawanna train station (Hoboken Terminal) at 1 Hudson Place, Hoboken.

A treat for this walk is that in addition to the Hudson River Waterfront Conservancy Board members, it will be narrated by Robert Foster, Executive Director of the Hoboken Historical Museum for the past 30 years, and a cornerstone of the museum since its founding in 1986. Throughout his career, Robert has been dedicated to unearthing and honoring Hoboken’s rich history and local art scene, ensuring that the city’s stories are preserved and celebrated for generations to come. Noelle Thurlow who leads the Resilience Adventures non-profit, and is also a Conservancy Board member, will join us and share conservation efforts underway on the Hoboken waterfront.

Feel free to arrive early to tour the wonderful Hoboken Historical Museum exhibits and use the restrooms. The Upper Gallery exhibit might be of special interest as it highlights Hoboken’s official bird, the tern.

If you are driving to join us, park up the block from the museum at the Little Man Parking Garage at 2 14th Street, Hoboken; phone # 201-217-1683. Museum visitors can park for up to 3 hours for free. When pulling into the garage, pull over and notify the attendant of your museum visit and request a ticket which you’ll then ask the museum receptionist to stamp. If you pull in and pay, you won’t be able to get a refund. If you stay past the three hours, the garage will charge their rate for the day.

Come learn about Hoboken’s waterfront and join our Earth Day sunset stroll along the Hudson River Walkway – we look forward to seeing you then. Rain or shine; a storm will cancel the walk.
