Dear Mayor Bhalla,
On behalf of the Hudson River Waterfront Conservancy, I want to thank you, and the leadership of Hoboken, for completing the segment of the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway in the north end of Hoboken between the Shipyard and the Hudson Tea Complex.
Today was the first chance I had to see the new Walkway segment and it is impressive. While it is a short segment, it is quality construction and conforms to all the Walkway guidelines, including width and handicap access, and blends nicely with the existing connections to the Walkway at the Shipyard and the Hudson Tea complexes. This is another example where Hoboken is leading the way in waterfront development with the major support of the Fund for a Better Waterfront.
Other towns along the Hudson River to the north and south are just now experiencing the development growth on their waterfronts that Hoboken experienced years ago. They are recognizing the waterfront and the Walkway as a transportation, recreational and economic asset to their towns. The Conservancy often uses Hoboken as a model for those communities as their waterfronts and Walkways evolve.
Thanks again for Hoboken’s leadership on the Waterfront.
The Conservancy is here to help. Call us any time.
Respectfully,
Don
